It is with regret that I advise of the passing of our long term and esteemed member, Steve Thurlow on Wed 9 June from a lung infection. He was 79 years old.

 

Steve initially served with the British Army 1949-51 seeing service in North Africa. He migrated to Australia and enlisted in the ARA in 1952 and saw service in Korea with the RAR. He transferred to RA Signals and served with 28 COMWEL Bde Sig Sqn, Malaya 1957-58. His final ARA posting was with 301 Sig Sqn, Lidcombe NSW, discharging in 1964 with the rank of sergeant.

 

He re-enlisted into the CMF (8 Signal Regiment) in 1968 and served until 1972.

 

His R&SL funeral service and cremation will be held at 2pm Tuesday 15 June 2010 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Camden Valley Way, Leppington, NSW.

 

He is survived by his former wife and two sons.
